Dear New York Readers,
Please join us Monday, December 10 for a reading and discussion of The Trouble is the Banks, a collection of letters from ordinary Americans to Wall Street executives, co-hosted by Occupy the Boardroom and Book Thug Nation.
The Trouble Is the Banks Reading and Discussion
7:30–9 PM, Monday, December 10
Book Thug Nation
100 N. 3rd St., Brooklyn
Please RSVP
Editors and letter writers will read excerpts from the book (here’s an improvised preview), and discuss how the book came to be with the creators of the website Occupy the Boardroom, where the letters first appeared. We’ll also open to floor to talk about what’s wrong with the banks and what we can do about it.
If you can’t make it on Monday, please consider buying a copy and/or making a donation now. We’ll also gladly send a copy to your favorite banker, pundit, politician, or neoliberal family member. All donations and profits from sales of the book go directly toward organizations working for economic justice (among them New York Communities for Change).
If you can make it, we look forward to seeing you there!
Mark Greif and Dayna Tortorici (co-editors, The Trouble Is the Banks)
