Submissions
N1BR is open to reviews of all kinds. Whether you want to uncover overlooked titles, examine critical consensus, praise with extreme brevity or appraise at extreme length, we'll be happy to consider your pitch—so long as it's something you're desperate to write. If we're in a crisis of book-reviewing, we'll never escape with more dutiful reviews. We like writers that make idiosyncratic connections, pay attention to academic and independent presses, and in general try to say the unsayable about the unread. We also publish one essay per issue on living with literature.
